Screening All Persons Entering Our Campus

At Orlando Lutheran Towers our goal is to provide the best environment and care for our residents.  During times of community challenges we strive to be proactive and take necessary precautions to protect our residents, staff, and the community.

Currently Orlando Lutheran is only allowing essential medical personnel and staff (who are being screened) to enter the Commons or Windsor at this time due to the Governors order (see information below).

In Independent Living we are screening any person who enters the premises and only essential personnel are being allowed into the facility.  We are asking all residents to follow the shelter in place order issued by Orange County in order to prevent the spread of the disease.  Bonnie has provided further guidance and there is a resident council meeting every Monday in the chapel with social distancing seating so we can continue to keep independent living residents updated.

To obtain more information on the Coronavirus visit the CDC at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/index.html

Feel free to call the facility if you have questions about visiting or our policies.  Thank you for understanding our caution and need to protect our residents.

CDC Guidance

The CDC posted new recommendations for healthcare personnel as of this morning.  If you see your healthcare provider (staff) wearing a mask please rest assured that it is not because they have active symptoms but rather it is a preventive measure for essential personnel in order to prevent the spread of potential infections.  Any employee who has any respiratory symptoms or a fever is asked to stay home until symptom free for at least 24 hours or go to their doctor (or telemedicine) and provide a return to work release before they are allowed to return to the facility.

You can read more about the guidance for healthcare facilities/workers at:

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/guidance-risk-assesment-hcp.html#table1

As always – residents can speak with social services, risk management, or administration with any questions or concerns.

Orlando Lutheran Towers has been screening and keeping track of all employee travel and we have instituted measures to be sure that we are complying with the new order and keeping our residents protected.
